Turangawaewae Inquiry Metacognition -
- You created 3 pieces of art in class. Which one were you most proud of and why? The piece of art I am most proud of is my hei tiki because I think the colour scheme I chose were very bold colours and pops off my etching background.
- You were asked to submit your very own/individual piece of art that represented you and something you were inspired by. Explain in more detail about this…
I have not done a piece of art yet.
- You learnt some new skills during our term of art - cross hatching, colour composition, maori motifs, patterns and symmetry. Choose one and explain in more detail exactly what you learnt .One of the techniques we learnt was cross hatching this is when you do small crosses on a piece of paper which gives the drawing more texture especially on our self portraits which gave our skin some texture to make it look more realistic. If we simply coloured it in, we would be flat. The cross hatching made our art 3d.
- Our trip around Hawke’s Bay was to inspire us. Describe what your highlight was from this trip and why. My highlight of our trip was the Indian rice display which was made up of coloured rice in patterns on the floor and then there were glass balls hanging from the with spices, shells, stones and it smelled so good I liked this because the rice made a cool effect and the smell was soo good.
- If we carried out this Turangawaewae Inquiry topic again, what would you change/do differently? For Inquiry this term there were a lot of presentations that we had to do and I only did google slides so the thing I would do differently would be to do more prezis and Powtoons instead of just doing google slideshows.
- Identify one person's artwork that you are impressed by. Explain why? I was impressed by Eden’s hei tiki because she put so much detail into her etching and her colors for her tiki made a bold finish.
